How Luzmo uses cookies and similar technologies on luzmo.com and in the product, and how you can manage them.

This cookie statement sets out how Luzmo, a public limited company (“naamloze vennootschap”) with registered office at Tiensevest 102 box 201, B-3000 Leuven, Belgium, registered with the Crossroad Bank for Enterprises (“Kruispuntbank van Ondernemingen”) under number 0640.944.227 (RLE Leuven) (“Luzmo”, “our” or “we”) collects personal information through the use of cookies and similar technologies from customers and other individuals (collectively "you") who access or use our websites, including https://luzmo.com, and our digital platform which allows you to connect and combine data and create dashboards, in order to get actionable insights from this data (the “Application”).

When you visit our website https://luzmo.com or use our Application through our website, we and our service providers acting on our behalf automatically collect certain data using tracking technologies like cookies and web beacons. This notice describes what tracking technologies we use and what we use them for.

We have made agreements with other companies that place cookies about the use of the cookies. However, we do not have full control over what they do with the cookies themselves. You should therefore also read their privacy and/or cookie statements to which reference is made in this Cookie Statement, if applicable.

1. Who is the controller?

We are the controller of the information we collect through the use of the cookies and similar tracking technologies that we placed on our website and Application.

If you have any questions about this Cookie Statement, you can reach us at the following e-mail address: support@luzmo.com.

A cookie is a simple small file sent with pages of the Website and/or Digital Platform and stored by your browser on your device's hard drive. The information stored in it can be sent back to our servers the next time you visit us.

When we talk about cookies in this Cookie Statement, we also mean similar (tracking) techniques, such as pixels and web beacons (i.e. electronic images that allow the website and/or Application to count users who have accessed a particular page and to access certain cookies).

2.1 Permanent vs. temporary cookies and direct vs. indirect cookies

A distinction is made between permanent and temporary cookies on the one hand and direct and indirect cookies on the other hand.

Permanent and temporary cookies

Cookies are permanent when they remain on the user's device, even after the user has closed the browser, temporary cookies disappear as soon as the user has closed the browser.

Through the use of a permanent cookie we can recognize you when you revisit our Website. In this way, the Website can be adjusted to your specific preferences, such as your choice of language. We can also remember whether you gave your permission to set cookies. This means that you do not have to repeat your preferences each time you visit our Website, saving you time and making it easier for you to use our Website. Permanent cookies can be deleted via the settings of your browser.

With the help of a temporary cookie, we can see which parts of the Website you have viewed during your visit. This enables us to adapt our service as much as possible to the browsing behavior of our visitors. These cookies are automatically deleted as soon as you close your web browser.

Direct and indirect cookies

Based on the source of the cookies, we make a distinction between direct and indirect cookies. Direct cookies are sent by our website and our Application itself, indirect or third party cookies originate from third parties domain names.

2.2 Categories

We can split cookies into three categories, depending on the purpose for which they are used: functional cookies, statistics cookies and marketing cookies.

Functional cookies

Functional cookies are used to provide a service explicitly requested by you. Without these cookies, services you ask for, like authentication to our platform, cannot be provided. This also includes cookies that remember the choices that you have made (e.g. language selection or white-labelling settings).

Statistics cookies

These cookies collect information about you such as page load speeds, internet connection speeds, browser type, device type, screen size, etc. for the purpose of assessing the performance of a website and allowing its improvement.

Marketing cookies

These cookies track your browsing activities on websites and collect information about your browsing habits. These cookies are used to deliver advertisements more relevant to you and your interests, to limit the number of times you see an advertisement and to help us measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. These cookies contain a unique key that is able to distinguish individual users’ browsing habits or store code that can be translated into a set of browsing habits or preferences using information stored elsewhere. They remember that a user has visited a website and this information is shared with other organizations such as advertisers. Quite often marketing cookies will be linked to site functionality provided by the other organizations. The data contained in these cookies is also generally used by these third party organizations. One of these tools, Microsoft Clarity, also records your interactions with our pages (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) so that we can replay a visit and see where visitors run into difficulty. These recordings are only made if you accept marketing cookies, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
