Webinar Q&A

Q: Do you have an MCP (Model Context Protocol) for Cloud Cards?
A:
Not at the moment. While this isn’t currently part of the core roadmap, it’s something the team is actively considering. Internally, Luzmo is already working API-first and experimenting with agent-based workflows, which makes MCP a logical future step. Customers are encouraged to submit this as a feature request to help prioritize it.

Q: Self-service conversational analytics feels essential. What will the setup look like?
A: Luzmo is approaching self-service from two complementary directions. First, through Luzmo IQ, where users can ask questions and receive charts or insights via AI. Second, through new UI components that allow customers to build their own editing and customization experiences. Together, these make it possible to create powerful, controlled self-service analytics for end users.

Q: Will end users be able to create and customize reports themselves?
A: Yes. We're building modular report-builder components on top of Flex SDK that allow you to embed full dashboard-building experiences inside their applications. This gives end users the freedom to build charts and dashboards while you retain full control over complexity, permissions, and design.

Q: Are these self-service components meant for viewers or designers?
A: Both. Customers can decide how far they want users to go, from light customization to full dashboard creation, depending on their audience and use case.

Q: Is the AI Summary widget available in Flex SDK?
A: The AI Summary widget itself is not a Flex SDK widget, but the summaries are available through APIs. This allows customers using Flex or custom UIs to fetch AI-generated summaries and render them wherever they want.

Q: Can AI summaries respect filters, permissions, and localization?
A: Yes. AI summaries automatically respect dashboard filters, access control, cached queries, and even language settings, ensuring summaries always reflect the user’s current context.

Q: Can AI help with building formulas?
A: Yes. Luzmo now supports AI-generated formulas using natural language prompts. Users can describe the calculation they want, and Luzmo generates the formula automatically, a major time saver even for experienced users.

Q: Can metadata improvements affect charts, tooltips, and AI results?
A: Absolutely. Improved metadata (clear names, types, descriptions) is applied at the dataset level and impacts all charts, dashboards, and AI features. Better metadata leads to better understanding for users and more accurate AI outputs.

Q: Can metadata also be used in formulas?
A: Not yet, but this is already being considered for a future iteration.

Q: Is it possible to parse string data (JSON, key-value pairs, delimited strings)?
A: There’s no single built-in solution yet, but you can use derived columns or array columns depending on the data structure. This is a common request and should be submitted as a feature request to help guide future development.

Q: Are period comparisons available in pivot tables?
A: Yes. Period comparisons, including absolute and percentage changes, are now supported in pivot tables, not just charts. Customers can configure comparisons based on fixed or user-selected periods.

Q: Are nested formulas (e.g. average of averages) coming?
A: Yes. Nested aggregation formulas are currently in development and planned for beta release by the end of the quarter. This will allow customers to calculate higher-level business metrics without restructuring their datasets.

Q: I'm using Luzmo Studio (visual dashboard editor), can filters be hidden or collapsed in dashboards?
A: This isn’t included in the current update, but it’s a frequently requested feature. For now, similar behavior can be implemented using Flex SDK.

Q: Will Studio get AI-assisted chart building?
A: Yes. A refreshed Studio UI is coming with built-in AI assistance that lets users create and iterate on charts using natural language, while still allowing full manual control when needed.

Q: With growing usage, is scalability being addressed?
A: Yes. Alongside new features, a significant part of Q1 is dedicated to scaling infrastructure to support strong growth in embedded users, query volume, and data processing.
