The practical differences at a glance

Six buyer-level splits. Scan Luzmo against Embeddable in about thirty seconds.

Both platforms cover the embedded analytics checklist. These six rows are where they differ.

To see the difference quickly, change a metric, a theme, and a dashboard on each platform, and note who had to do it.

What Luzmo and Embeddable are

Neither is code-only or no-code-only. The useful comparison is task by task: who builds the integration, edits a dashboard, defines a metric, changes the theme, builds a custom chart, and publishes. The key differences below map those tasks.

Luzmo and Embeddable both support embedded analytics, and both are built for customer-facing use, not internal BI. Both offer a no-code dashboard builder, customer self-service, row-level security, white-labeling, and a free trial. Both need developers for the initial integration and for custom components. They differ in where the rest of the work happens. Embeddable can keep every layer as code in Git, and its themes are TypeScript files. Luzmo manages dashboards, formulas, and themes in its editor, and adds Flex, SDKs, and APIs when a screen needs code. The category is customer-facing analytics in data-intensive products, not SaaS only.

Luzmo
Embedded analytics and AI for data-intensive companies where analytics is part of the product. A managed editor and a semantic layer ground dashboards, APIs, and Luzmo IQ on one metric model, with tenant scope on every surface, delivered through web components, framework SDKs, Flex, or iframe.

Key differences in one minute

Five documented differences. Each block is a fact, then why it matters for a buyer, then the source.

  1. 1. Who does which task

Both need developers to build the integration: a backend that issues tokens and the embed in your frontend. Both have a no-code dashboard builder, and dashboard edits publish without a code release. Metrics are formulas in the Luzmo editor, and models in Embeddable’s Data Model Editor or Cube files. Themes are set in the Luzmo editor, and are TypeScript files in your repository in Embeddable. Custom charts are developer work on both. Embeddable can also keep every layer as code in Git. Luzmo has no built-in Git workflow, but dashboard definitions are JSON your team can version through the API.

Why it matters: List the changes you expect in the first year, such as new metrics, a rebrand, new chart types, or customer-specific dashboards. Check who can make each one on each platform, and whether it goes through code review.

  2. 2. Embedded AI: packaging, model choice, status

Both offer a chat that answers questions with charts under row-level security. Luzmo IQ is part of Embedded Everywhere, with 500 AI conversations a month before usage pricing, and runs on OpenAI. Embeddable lists AI chat in every pricing tier and runs it on the LLM key you provide, across seven providers. Its product page says “built for production”. Its documentation labels the AI Chatbot “Prototype” and says APIs and behavior may change, as of 6 October 2026.

Why it matters: This matters only if customers will use AI analysis in your product. If they will, ask Embeddable for the chatbot’s release status and test both on your own data. If you need your own model provider, Embeddable lets you set it today. Luzmo enables other providers on customer request, with a committed release date.

  3. 3. Native components plus hosted dashboards vs no iframe at all

Embeddable renders every dashboard through its em-beddable web component, without an iframe. Luzmo’s dashboard web component hosts the dashboard in an iframe. Flex charts and Luzmo IQ components render directly in your page. React, Vue, and Angular SDKs wrap both.

Why it matters: Decide where analytics must sit inside your UI. A full analytics page works in a hosted frame. A KPI inside a workflow screen, styled with your design tokens, needs a component in your page: Flex in Luzmo, the web component in Embeddable. The integration method does not decide UX quality on its own, so test with your design system.

  4. 4. Built-in Cube vs Luzmo’s semantic layer

Embeddable runs on a built-in Cube layer, or on your own Cube deployment. Models are built in its Data Model Editor or as Cube files, with access policies and pre-aggregations. Luzmo runs its own semantic layer, and dashboards, APIs, and IQ read the same definitions, with Warp acceleration.

Why it matters: A team that already runs Cube can bring its models to Embeddable. Otherwise, compare how each handles your joins, metric definitions, and caching on your own data.

  5. 5. Public plan vs flat quote

Luzmo publishes one plan, Embedded Everywhere, from €1,995 / $2,495 per month billed annually, plus AI and Warp usage. Some contracts scale on monthly active users instead. Embeddable sells a flat monthly subscription with unlimited usage and every feature, quoted mainly on project scope. It does not publish a price.

Why it matters: A public price shows the entry point, not your total cost. A flat fee fixes the subscription, not the work around it. Ask both vendors to quote the same scope, with your expected users, AI use, environments, and support.

How a change reaches your users

Dashboard edits avoid a code release on both platforms. Themes and custom components are where Embeddable involves developers by default, and where its Git workflow applies.

The path depends on the kind of change.

Luzmo

  1. 1 Dashboard, formula, or theme: edited in the Luzmo editor.

  2. 2 Saved, or published as a version to an environment if you use them.

  3. 3 Your product shows the change through the existing embed, with no code release.

  4. 4 Custom charts and Flex screens are developer work.

Embeddable

  1. 1 Dashboard: edited in the no-code builder, or as YAML in your repository.

  2. 2 Model: edited in the Data Model Editor, or as Cube files pushed from your repository.

  3. 3 Theme and custom components: code in your repository, pushed to Embeddable.

  4. 4 Someone publishes a version, and the web component loads it.

When Luzmo is a better fit, and when Embeddable is a better fit

Each item is a real advantage for some teams. Weigh them against the changes you expect to make after launch.

When Luzmo is a better fit

  • AI analysis included in the plan

Luzmo IQ is part of Embedded Everywhere, with 500 AI conversations a month included, and answers on the same model and embed token as your dashboards.

  • Branding without a code change

Themes, palettes, and fonts are set in the Luzmo editor. In Embeddable, themes are TypeScript files in your repository.

  • A list price before the first call

Embedded Everywhere starts from €1,995 / $2,495 per month billed annually, plus usage. It shows the entry point, not your total cost. Embeddable requires a quote.

  • One model behind every surface

Dashboards, APIs, and IQ read the same definitions in Luzmo’s semantic layer, with the same tenant token.

  • Two integration depths

Full dashboards embed through the dashboard component. Flex renders individual charts in your page where analytics sits inside a workflow screen.

Assess your Embeddable migration scope

When Embeddable is a better fit

  • No iframe for any dashboard

Every Embeddable dashboard renders through one web component without an iframe. Luzmo offers that through Flex, not for full dashboards.

  • Every layer can be code in Git

Models, themes, components, and dashboards can live in your repository, go through pull requests, and preview locally. Luzmo has no built-in Git workflow.

  • Cube underneath

A built-in Cube layer, or your own Cube deployment, with pre-aggregations and access policies.

  • Flat pricing with unlimited usage

One subscription, every feature, no usage-based pricing.

Our read: The fee is quoted per project, so you cannot compare it before a sales conversation. Luzmo publishes its starting price.

  • Bring your own LLM

The AI Chatbot runs on your own key across seven providers, set by you in the platform. Luzmo IQ runs on OpenAI and adds other providers on request.

Decision guide

Most teams match more than one scenario. Rank them by what you will change most often after launch.

  • Non-developers will manage dashboards, metrics, and branding

Both let non-developers edit dashboards and metrics. Luzmo also keeps themes in the same editor, while Embeddable themes are code. Test both with the people who will do the work.

    Better fit: Luzmo

  • Analytics must go through pull requests and CI

Embeddable deserves a close look. Models, themes, components, and dashboards can all be files in your repository.

    Better fit: Embeddable

  • Customers will use AI analysis in your product

Luzmo IQ is included in the plan. Embeddable’s docs label its chatbot Prototype, while its product page says built for production. Ask for its status, and test both on your own data.

    Better fit: Luzmo

  • Your data team already models in Cube

Embeddable runs on Cube and can use your own Cube deployment.

    Better fit: Embeddable

  • Full dashboards must render without an iframe

Embeddable renders full dashboards without an iframe. With Luzmo, build those screens with Flex instead of the dashboard component.

    Better fit: Embeddable

  • Customers build their own dashboards

Both offer embedded self-service with guardrails. Run the same task on both: add a chart, save, share, switch to view-only.

Better fit: Both. Run the same job in each.

  • You need a price before procurement

Luzmo publishes a starting price. Embeddable requires a quote.

    Better fit: Luzmo

  • AI must run on your own model provider

Embeddable lets you set your own LLM key today. Luzmo IQ runs on OpenAI and enables other providers on request, with a committed release date. Ask both about your provider.

    Better fit: Embeddable

Pricing snapshot

No universal cheaper answer. Luzmo publishes one plan, then usage. Embeddable quotes a flat subscription with unlimited usage.

Luzmo

One plan, Embedded Everywhere, from €1,995 / $2,495 per month billed annually. The bill is a platform fee plus AI and Warp usage. Some contracts scale on monthly active users instead. The public package includes 500 governed AI conversations per month. Warp includes 100 million rows, then $0.25 per extra million. White-labeling, self-service, and governed AI are included. Enterprise changes deployment, not the product.

Embeddable

Embeddable does not publish a price. Its pricing page describes a flat monthly subscription with unlimited usage and every feature, fully white-labelled by default, with no usage-based pricing. Quotes are based mainly on project scope.

Headline prices are not total cost. On both platforms, add the people who will maintain models, dashboards, themes, and components, plus AI and Warp usage on Luzmo. Quote both on the same scope.

Migrating embedded analytics from Embeddable to Luzmo

Moving from Embeddable to Luzmo means moving models, themes, and components into Luzmo’s editor and SDKs.

Treat this as a scoping exercise, not a rip-and-replace. Inventory models, themes, components, dashboards, customer-created canvases, and security rules before you count dashboards.

  1. Map models, measures, joins, and access policies to Luzmo datasets, formulas, and embed-token rules. There is no automated import.
  2. Recreate TypeScript themes as Luzmo themes.
  3. Custom React components do not become Luzmo custom charts or Flex on their own. Expect a rebuild.
  4. Rebuild dashboards in the Luzmo editor, or create them through the API.
  5. Custom Canvas dashboards saved by customers are not documented as exportable. Plan how to recreate them.
  6. Replace Embeddable security tokens with Luzmo embed tokens, and map environments to Luzmo account overrides.
  7. If you use the AI Chatbot with your own LLM key, ask Luzmo to enable your provider. IQ runs on OpenAI today.

Already on Embeddable? Inventory models, themes, components, dashboards, customer canvases, and security rules, then scope the work before you estimate.

Fact-checked against first-party sources

Last full review:

Luzmo publishes this comparison and has a commercial interest in the result. We still want Embeddable’s current product represented accurately, including the cases where Embeddable is the stronger fit.

Embeddable changed a lot in 2026: dashboards as code, Custom Canvas, an AI Chatbot, AI Endpoints, a PDF export API, and a self-serve trial. An earlier version of this page missed most of that.

We checked each Embeddable claim against its current documentation, pricing, security, and product pages. Where the product page and the documentation disagree, we quote both. We checked Luzmo’s iframe behavior in the published embed package.

When Embeddable supports a capability, we say so. When it depends on a Prototype or Beta label, we show that condition. Where we found no documentation, we say not documented.

Customer outcomes published by Embeddable are customer-reported. Performance, implementation speed, AI quality, and design flexibility need the same test on both platforms.
